This is a big, strong and classy-looking gelding who can be renamed, and is a fantastic mover and very light on his feet for a big horse. He is by an up-and-coming French sire in Maresca Sorrentowho has produced Grand National winner Pineau De Re, last season’s Grade-1 Aintree novice hurdle winner Felix Desjy as well as Jonjo’s recent smart bumper winner Garry Clermont. This horse’s dam is a half-sister to very smart Grade-2 winning and Grade-1 placed chaser Saint Calvados. It is a pedigree of 2-milers so this horse looks an exciting prospect who should have plenty of speed.

THATS THE TRUTH
Thats The Truth has had 3 runs in Irish Points finishing 2nd twice.
On her debut at Ballinaboola she kept on nicely to finish runner up looking a strong staying type. The form of that race has been franked again and again with 5 future winners in behind her! Her 2nd on her latest outing at Oldcastle was also strong form, jumping well and staying on strongly. Her family is interesting being a full sister to Spiritofthegames (also by Darsi) who was 3rd in this year’s Festival Plate off a mark of 147. He has a really solid profile and seems to excel in big field fast run races. Another two who Thats The Truth's dam Lucy Waters has produced are; Mackeys Forge who was 141 rated at his peak for the late Dessie Hughes and Benleigh who Henry Daly trained to win a bumper on debut before selling to Gigginstown.
Trained by a trainer who has only had one winner from 23 runners in Irish Point-to-Points this season. Skylanna Breeze is a son of Primary; a little-known stallion who has excellent statistics with his few runners under rules including 144-rated First Flow who won three consecutive novice hurdles for Kim Bailey and three-time winning 142-rated Prime Venture for Evan Williams. Skylanna Breeze finished third and second on the last two of his three runs in Point-to-Points including when finishing ten-length second on his latest start to the €360,000 Punchestown Sale topper The Big Breakaway. He also has the 167 rated, multiple grade 2 winning, Keen Leader in his family who was hugely successful for Jonjo.
The 4-year-old son of Yeats is a full-brother to the well regarded Pileon. He has identical point-to-point form before coming to England and really impressing the trainer Phillip Hobbs, winning a strong Exeter bumper on debut this spring. Frisco Bay is a big scopey good-looking chasing type who will benefit from a staying trip and cut in the ground and should improve significantly with time. In both his Point-to-Points he travelled well before becoming outpaced when the pace quickened but then stayed on determinedly in the closing stages. He was only beaten four lengths into second place on his latest start to Gabbys Cross who sold for €170,000. He has a really impressive pedigree and is an exciting new addition to the team at Jackdaws Castle.
AT FIRST GLANCE
Good-looking and very strong filly by Stowaway out of an Accordion mare (a very strong cross which has produced this season’s Grade-2 winner Beakstown and multiple Graded placed Highway One O One). At First Glance was trained by one of the smaller Irish Point-to-Point yards, which is encouraging as it suggests room for plenty of improvement. She finished a most promising fourth in her only start in an Irish Point-to-Point beaten five lengths by the winner Noreen Bawn who went on to sell for €220,000 at the Punchestown Sale, with the second horse making £80,000, we feel that this mare has been overlooked and stands to be very good value. She looks certain to progress for the experience.
SHOLOKHOV (IRE) ex CHAMPAGNE RUBY (IRE)
Sholokhov (sire of Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Don Cossack), first foal out of a Presenting mare (superb broodmare sire), dam is a half-sister to Grade-1 winner Royal Vacation as well as two other black type performers. Lovely moving horse with strength and a fabulous attitude.
BEAT HOLLOW (GB) ex SCARLET FEATHER (IRE)
Beat Hollow (sire of Cheltenham Festival winners Minella Indo, Wicklow Brave & Cinders & Ashes) gelding out of a Flemensfirth mare (excellent broodmare sire). Powerful horse. Dam is a half-sister to Grade-2 winner Winter Escape and also to the dam of Jonjo's promising young bumper horse Adicci. The third dam produced Jonjo's Grade-1 winner Black Jack Ketchum.
SHANTOU (USA) ex GLENS MELODY (IRE)
Shantou first foal out of superstar race mare Glens Melody who won five stakes races including the Grade-1 David Nicholson Mares Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival. She also boasts one of the best pedigrees in the national hunt stud book. This is a strong, precocious type who should be ready to run in bumpers as a 4yo.
