At the two day meeting at Cheltenham, Upswing did fantastically well, winning his second race of the month (11 days after winning at Ffos Las). He won the Llewellyn Humphrys Handicap Chase – the feature chase of day two. Also Lithic ran a very pleasing race, beaten only a length in the 2 mile handicap hurdle on the first day – ridden by Jonjo Junior.

The charity football match after racing in Cheltenham (Wednesday 19th) was a great success, with plenty of money raised for the Injured Jockeys Fund. I think this is something that could be built upon in future years and great fun was had by all – even though we were beaten in a photo finish by the ex-Cheltenham players!

We had no luck at the Ayr Scottish Grand National meeting, although Another Hero ran well for a long way in the Grand National, and maybe just didn’t stay the trip. Also, Timeforwest ran a good race in defeat, after winning her last three starts maybe the 20lb increase was just too much……..

The following day (Sunday 23rd) Strongly Suggested won in good fashion up at Wetherby.

Over the weekend we reached the magical figure of £1,000,000 prize money for the season which we are delighted to achieve, as we haven’t quite for the last couple of years, lets hope we can build on this next season – which kicks off on 1st May at Kempton and Warwick. I’d like to thank all our team at Jackdaws for all their hard work over the past 12 months and lets look forward to having a better and more prosperous 2017/2018 season.

Today we have three runners at Warwick and 1 runner on the flat at Windsor tonight.
