More Snow

« Back To News

I hope you have all had an enjoyable Christmas and are getting ready for you New Year Festivities. Here at Jackdaws we are under the cover of snow again, but with our fantastic facilities we have not been held up at all.

We even managed to get Minella Rocco over to Ireland to run a fantastic race in the Leopardstown Christmas Chase – where he finished a respectable fourth.
Saturday was a bit of a downer at Ascot, with Go Conquer still in the lead and going well when he nearly fell at the 14th and lost his chance. Luckily, he has come back fine and we look forward to the spring with him.

We only had a few runners on Boxing Day but Cloth Cap won nicely at Huntingdon under Richie McLernon, the first part of a treble for him on the day.

The weather has now hit again, with lots of meetings being abandoned. We hopefully have 5 runners tomorrow at Doncaster, if it passes the inspection, but with the snow melting and the amount of rain we have also had, the ground is going to be very soft on most tracks during early January, so we will be very quiet on the runner front, and will give a few horses a break before the ground improves in the spring.

Happy New Year to you all.
