The Gallops
Most of a racehorse’s training revolves around regular workouts on the gallops. At Jonjo O’Neill Racing we are confident that we have the finest National Hunt training facilities in the country, including a variety of grass and all-weather gallops. There are three grass gallops, together with a Eurotrack and Polytrack gallop. Additionally, there are more than three miles of horse walks, all contained within the 500 acre estate. These facilities allow our horses to enjoy a variety of exercise and conditions without the need to use public roads or bridle paths.
Grass Gallops
There are three grass gallops, all one mile long. Each one has an incline which provides for a thorough workout and is also equipped with a “pop up” sprinkler system to ensure near optimum underfoot conditions. Basic routine involves galloping uphill and then slowly walking back, before repeating. Such a regime helps to build strength and stamina.

All-Weather Gallops
We also have a five-furlong Eurotrack gallop and a one-mile Polytrack gallop. When early morning routines are jeopardised by weather conditions, these top class facilities mean our horses are able to exercise whatever the elements throw at us. With our specialised equipment, we are actually able to replicate underfoot conditions similar to those which our horses encounter on the grass, be it fast, good or soft.

Schooling Facilities
Every type of obstacle a horse may be required to jump in its racing career is available to us. We have dedicated all-weather gallops, each one having a series of hurdles, brush hurdles, Grand National style fences, regular chasing fences as well as a schooling lane containing barrels, logs and poles.

Paddocks
We have acres of turnout paddocks which allow our horses to relax and play on a regular basis. Additionally, these give us the chance to turn horses out for a summer break or when recuperating after injury. This is all part of our philosophy that horses should have a rich environment that, hopefully, will make them contented.
