Jonjo O'Neill Racing Limited is delighted to announce their three year sponsorship deal with Jewson. A press day was held at Jackdaws Castle earlier in October to announce the same.

Jonjo's greatest moment as a jockey was the victory of Dawn Run in the 1986 Tote Gold Cup at Cheltenham, he was champion jockey twice and had previously succeeded in the Gold Cup aboard Alverton in 1979.

Jonjo retired from the saddle at the end of the 1985/86 season having ridden more than 900 winners, he has broken virtually every bone in his body   and the Scottish Champion Hurdle at Ayr in 1986 was unfortunately his last ride.

Jonjo's first winner as a Trainer was in January 1987 with a horse called Shelbourne that won a novice hurdle at Ayr, his first Cheltenham Festival winner was with a horse called Danny Connors winning the Coral Golden Final Hurdle, owned by Mr J P McManus.

More Cheltenham Festival winners followed when in 1995 Front Line won the National Hunt Chase, Legal Right won the 1999 Tripleprint Gold Cup, Master Tern won the Vincent O'Brien Handicap Hurdle in 2000, Rith Dubh won the National Hunt Chase in 2002, Sudden Shock won the National Hunt Chase in 2003, Spectroscope won the Triumph Hurdle in 2003, Inching Closer won the Pertemps Final in 2003, Iris's Gift won the Ladbrokes World Hurdle, Native Emperor won the National Hunt Chase in 2003, Creon won the Pertemps Final in 2003, Wichita Lineman won the Brit Insurance Novices Hurdle in 2006, Butler's Cabin won the National Hunt Chase in 2006 and Drombeag won the Christie's Foxhunter Chase.

Flat winners have also been arrived at with Gipsy Fiddler winning the 1990 Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot.

In 2001 Jonjo, his family and his team were extremely fortunate and moved to Jackdaws Castle in Gloucestershire. This establishment is owned by Mr J P McManus and Jonjo trains horses on his behalf and also for numerous other owners. In the 2001/2002 (his first full season at Jackdaws Castle) he trained 113 winners and finished fourth in the jump trainer's championship.   Included in this season was the magnificent success at the John Smith's Grand National meeting at Aintree when Sudden   Shock, Quazar, Carbury Cross and Intersky Falcon all came home winners.

In 2003 a major transformation was undertaken at Jackdaws Castle and an amazing indoor schooling complex was built, this comprises of an equine pool, solariums, therapy rooms, horse walkers and an extremely big schooling area.

Winners at the Grand National Meeting in 2003 were amazing and included Master Tern, Clan Royal, Iris's Gift and Classic Native .

Victory has also been achieved at the Irish Champion Hurdle in 2003 with Quazar and Mini Sensation won the Welsh National Triumph. At the end of this season Jonjo was third in the trainer's championships.

The 2003/2004 season was just as exciting with Clan Royal winning the Top Chase at Aintree together with Iris's Gift winning the John Smith's Liverpool Hurdle. Rhinestone Cowboy had two amazing wins this season, firstly in the Scottish and Newcastle Aintree Hurdle and later the same month when he won the Ballymore Properties Champion Stayer's Hurdle in Punchestown.

AP McCoy was retained as Mr J P McManus's jockey in 2004 and 96 winners were sent out from Jackdaws Castle this season including the spectacular win of Refinement in the Paddy Power Champion INH Flat Race in Punchestown.

Black Jack Ketchum seems to be the one everyone remembers from the 2005/2006 season, his five successful wins included the Brit Insurance Novices' Hurdle at Cheltenham Festival.   Refinement was a joy to watch winning the John Smith's Extra Cold Handicap Hurdle at Aintree and Clan Royal took a very worthy third place in this years Grand National.   Exotic Dancer took some amazing wins this season including the Paddy Power Gold Cup at Cheltenham, The Boylesports.com Gold Cup at Cheltenham, the Letheby and Christopher Chase at Cheltenham and the Betfair Bowl at Aintree.

Further success was achieved at the Irish Grand National with Butler's Cabin , whilst Albertas Run and Two Miles West took victory at Aintree and Refinement was yet again successful winning the Grade One Dunboyne Castle Hotel & Spa Champion Stayer's Hurdle at Punchestown.

2007/2008 is looking good already, we have had over 70 winners and are really excited about the rest of the season
