The Indoor School
complex is one of the crown jewels of Jackdaws
Castle. Completed in August 2003 and opened
by Sir Peter O'Sullevan, it is an invaluable
tool throughout the year and especially in the
winter months.
It measures 25,000 sq ft in total
and houses the Equine Pool, Solariums, Therapy
Rooms and Horse Walkers. The Schooling area
itself measures 66 meters x 40 metres (larger
than a football pitch).
The tuition of younger horses
is important. We are fortunate enough to have
four flights of fully rubberised and padded
schooling hurdles which enable us to tutor

young or inexperienced
horses, or those that may need their confidence
restored, in a safe environment. We can use
this facility come snow or shine, day or night.
We also have starting stalls,
which can be used in our magnificent indoor
school. Obviously, it helps that we can now
do so much more work with horses early on in
their careers to hone their obstacle work.
It is a first-class race horse training facility and
we are so lucky to have this at our disposal. |
